The business

Metzlerei Lucien Saeul is an artisanal boucherie-charcuterie in the pedestrian zone of Echternach, Luxembourg’s oldest town. Lucien and his team make Luxembourgish charcuterie by hand, work with regional meats, and cook traiteur dishes for the table and for events. The savoir-faire is the product. The relaunch had to make a website feel as considered as a shop counter that has earned its regulars.

The thinking

A charcuterie sells trust before it sells anything else. The old way (a thin listing, a phone number, a few stock photos) asks the visitor to take the quality on faith. This relaunch shows it instead: the making, the counter, the dishes, and the people behind them, in a sequence that reads the way you would be walked through the shop.

The design

Echternach is a border town, so the site is bilingual, French and German, with a toggle that respects both audiences rather than defaulting to one. The structure follows the trade: savoir-faire, the meats, then traiteur and events. The palette is warm and quiet: cream, deep charcoal, a restrained red. So the photography of the charcuterie does the persuading. Typography is calm and generous; nothing shouts. The build is static and fast, because a small artisan should never load slower than a chain.
