The business

Boucherie Kappler is a third-generation boucherie-charcuterie in Luxembourg. Three generations of the same family, working the same trade, with the reputation that only comes from decades of getting it right. The meat and the service were never the problem. The website was: it did not carry the standard of the counter, and for a shop people increasingly find on a phone first, that gap costs real trade.

The thinking

The relaunch started from a simple question: would a first-time visitor believe this is one of the best butchers in the city before they ever walked in. The old site did not make that case. It had to show the craft, the range, and the family behind it, and it had to do so on a phone, in seconds, in the customer’s own language.

The design

The site is in French, the shop’s working language, and leads with the family and the trade rather than a generic template. Product photography does the selling; the layout stays out of its way. The palette is warm and restrained, close to the tones of the shop itself, so nothing on screen fights the meat. Performance was treated as design: the build is static and near-instant, scoring 99 on Lighthouse, because a shop this good should never load like it is behind the times.
